The Blank Canvas ...
When starting your new kitchen design we suggest you start with a blank canvas.
Kitchen designs are normally drawn to a scale of 1:200 ... and yes, we are going to ask you to draw out your new design to scale.
Remember the 5mm squared paper? well this is where it comes into its own because you don't have to have any scale drawing experience to be able to complete your kitchen plan.
The 5mm squared paper provides you with the correct scale (1:20), and is a piece of cake to use, e.g.
Each square on the paper = 100mm, so the following applies:
- A wall 2000mm long is drawn 20 squares long
- A wall 3250mm long is drawn 32.5 squares long
- A dishwasher 600mm wide takes up 6 squares
- A window 1250mm wide takes up 12.5 squares
It's simple ... isn't it?
So we now need to take the room outline information and use it to draw the plan to scale. (both in plan and elevation view)
Once your plan and elevation views are drawn to scale the planning and design can commence.
