Rule 2. Services In The Kitchen ...
No we are not going all religious, we mean you need to consider the positions of the following utilities:
- Hot and cold water input into the kitchen
- Waste water exit from the kitchen
- Gas Services within the kitchen
- Electricity (both 13amp & 30amp) services within the kitchen
You don't have to be the "Brain of Britain" to understand that planning your new kitchen around the existing positions of these services will simplify the new kitchen installation ... keeping the cost down!
However, there is nothing stopping you re-routing existing services to improve the layout of your new kitchen - just be prepared for the additional cost.
Remember it is easier to re-route gas and electrical supplies than waste water pipes, so it makes sense to try and keep the sink on the same "wall" if possible.
Check on the structure, if you have concrete floors / ceilings it will make re-routing services far more difficult than with a timber construction.
